Considering possible unfavourable weather conditions Suv cars are very helpful as not every auto can cross snow-covered road. Wet leaves, mud on roads and snow are perceived much easier. For that reason it`s not surprising that producers reequip even the simplest passenger cars as all-wheel drive models. A full drive is inevitable for an offroader as namely this technical characteristic is considered to be almost fundamental for inclusion in the category of Suv cars. Thanks to a great variety of models designed by recognized leaders of car industry you can make a choice in favour of four-wheel drive vehicle even if you only need to drive on city roads. Driving a Suv car you will feel more comfortable both in familiar locality and unknown territory of a city or outside a city. Suv cars perfectly manage with these tasks. In spite of the fact that many drivers aren't sure that they are making the right choice by reason of high prices these stereotypes frequently can be mistaken.
Car manufacturers try to take into account all these nuances and create the most comfortable conditions for potential customers to increase a client base. Nowadays Suv cars become more compact and fuel-efficient. It allows to offer such cars as an alternative to a passenger car that increases sales market and brings profit to companies. The majority characteristics of Suv cars are similar to a passenger vehicle. Their universality is determined by ability to fulfill different tasks including tasks which are not peculiar to motor cars – transportation of a large number of passengers (as minivans), large-size cargo (as universals) and moving on lack of roads (as offroaders).
Some Suv cars are classified not as passenger cars but as pickups (in USA; classification category – «light truck») and based on platforms of pickups. At the same time the majority of Suv cars have integrated body in contrast to traditional offroaders having a frame. Models equipped with integrated body are frequently categorized as crossovers but not as offroaders. Suv cars were given the name «Sport-Utility» because they had been initially sold as a vehicle for transportation of sports equipment (bicycles, kayaks, skis and others) while driving to countryside.
